Abstract

In the Experimental Station El Guayabo, property of FONAIAP, located in the Catatumbo County of Zulia State, Venezuela. A study was conducted With the objetive to evaluate accumulated dry matter yield of 25 accessions of Centrosema pubescens, 2 Centrosema acutifolium and 1 accessions of Centrosema macrocarpum. A randomized block design with 4 replications and Duncan’s Multiple Range test were using. A total of 6 cutting for each accession were done every 56 days, C. pubescens had the highest yield (P £ .05). C. pubescens CIAT Nº 5167, 5169, 15150, 15160 and 15470, yielded 5903, 5656 5600, 5469 and 5337 kg/ha respectively. C. acutifolium CIAT Nº5568 and C. macrocarpum were the accession with the lowest yield (2772 and 3199 kg/ha respectively). Dry matter yield during the dry season was highest (P £ .05) than durings the rainy season (5047 vs 4.095 kg/ha). These 5 accessions were considerated as having the higher forage potencial.
