Abstract

At present, cost is one of the most limiting factors to supplementation or confinement of sheep in Brazil. Therefore, there exists a need to use alternative feeds, with the objective of minimizing production costs and maximizing meat production. Given that reality, numerous agricultural-industrial residues present favorable nutritional characteristics for use in animal feeding, with the additional socioeconomic and environmental benefits of non-polluting disposal of thousands of tons of these residues.
