Abstract
I am pleased to inform you that the first issue of 2024 of the Latin American Archives of Animal Production is now available. This issue features five original articles of researchers from Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, Uruguay, and England. The scientific articles include original findings on: (1) the characterization of the haematological and biochemical profiles of pregnant and non-pregnant adult females of the Brazilian Pony; (2) the impact of the temperature-humidity index on milk production and cow behaviour in pastoral systems; (3) the influence of the use of five fertilizers on the phenological and productive response of African Star grass, providing information for its potential use; (4) the effectiveness of using the "male effect" to induce oestrus and ovulation in Merino ewes, reporting results of nine years of recordings and a total of 15,300 ewes; (5) a study on how increasing pasture areas in grazing dairy cow affects forage consumption and milk production by using GPS and LoRaWAN technologies.
I acknowledge the section editors, Drs. Julio Galli, Julio Cesar de Souza, Antonio Landaeta Hernández, and Fernando Pedro Perea Ganchou, who led the review process of the current issue. The Assistant Editor, María Cristina Bressan, and the Managing Editor, Omar E. Araujo-Febres, deserve special recognition for constantly supporting the publication of all issues.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the authors, reviewers, and readers for their unwavering support and contributions to our publications. The Latin American Association of Animal Production is committed to enhancing the scientific quality of its publications through the collaborative efforts of authors, editors, and reviewers.
