FR 48. Comparison of Fulton and alometric condition factors in curimbata (Prochilodus lineatus) raised in two environments
Abstract
Fulton and alometric condition factors were evaluated in a sample of 253 Cutimbata fish (Prochilodus lineatus). Fish were reared in two environments, total body cage length was taken at 60, 90, 150, 210, 270 and 330 days of age. Measurements were transformed to natural logarithms and a regression coefficient was calculated. The calculated values for condition factors of Fulton and alometric were: at 150 days (0.01361 and 0.01532) and, at 210 days (0.01489 and 0.01735), respectively. The alometric condition factor was the best for detecting changes in the environment.
