Infectious diseases of cattle diagnosed between 2020 and 2022 in the southern highlands of Ecuador
Abstract
State, regional and local, public and private animal health laboratories are an important contribution to the diagnosis, surveillance and control of infectious diseases, due to their proximity to the territories, the reference or experience that these institutions may have within the field. timely or specific to a particular disease (Kouba, 1991). In this work we present the results obtained for different infectious diseases of cattle. The results correspond to samples that come mainly from the provinces of Azuay and Cañar, located in the southern highlands of Ecuador, where dairy farming is the main agricultural activity. We intend to offer information in the context of our region as a general reference for veterinarians, producers and the general public.
