NR 37. Effect of the supplementation with multinutritional blocks on reproductive and productive behaviour in dual-purpose cows in savannas plains of the Manapire river
Abstract
A experiment was accomplished to evaluate the effect of the multinutritional block (MB), on the reproductive and productive behaviour of 42 dual purpose cows, grazing Trachypogon sp. A group with prevailing zebu crossbreds (ZC) and other with European crossbreds (EC), were randomly assigned in four treatments: T1: ZC and T2: EC, with commercial minerals, T3 and T4 equal to T1 and T2 but with MB of whole cotton seed (Gossypium hirsutum). The experiment had a duration of 94 days and was evaluated of 0 to 51 (P1), of 52 to 94 (P2) and 0 to 94 days (TP). The consumption of MB was 294, 432 and 355 g./animal/day during P1, P2 and TP, respectively. The live weight changes in the three periods showed differences (P<.05) for the treatments T3 to T2 and T4 during P1 (13.64, 1.00 and 3.00 kg) and PT (29.46, 12.10 and 11.09 kg). In calfs in the three periods were not observed significant difference in weight changes. At end the experiment, were observed differences (P<.05) in ovarian activity in T3 and T4 (6 and 2 cycling cows). So, had differents by supplementation with MB, among animals with crossbreeds European and Zebu.
